Limited Edition Cuban Cigars
Since 2000, Habanos SA have released one or more Limited Edition releases to the worldwide market. Typically released in the fall, Limited Edition releases are manufactured using a selection of two year old wrappers.
Regional Edition Cuban Cigars
Every year, the distributor of each Country commissions Regional Edition Cigars exclusive for their own market. Click on a country below to view the Cuban Cigars that were commissioned for that area:
The Asia Pacific market is a large one that includes amongst others China and Australia. Therefore the demand means that the Regional Editions for the Asia Pacific market are produced in large quantities meaning that they are relitively easy to get old of a few years after their release.
Although tobacco taxes in Canada are amongst the highest in the world, the demand for Regional Editions is still high, and therefore Canadian Regional Editions have always attracted interest from Cigar Aficionados worldwide.
It would only seem appropriate for Cuba to have it's own Regional Edition. After all,
Along with Spain and Germany, France has always been an important and historic market for Cuban Cigars. French Regional Releases are usually shorter Cigars, but have always hit the mark in terms in quality and flavour.
Germany has always been one of the most important markets in Europe for Habanos SA, therefore the Regional Editions allocated for the German market have always been of the highest quality, and are usually released before any other country.
With India quickly increasing in wealth, it was only a matter of time before the Regional Release programme extend to include this fast growing nation.
Spain has historically been a very important market for the Cuban Cigar industry, and this is reflected through the Regional Edition releases. While the Regional Editions from other countries tend to be short in length, Spanish Regional Editions are noted for their Coronas Gordas or larger sizes.
Switzerland has always been a popular destination for aficionados who are attracted to the prices of Cigars within it's borders. Therefore Swiss Regional Releases tend to be purchased not only by their own ilk, but visiting Cigar enthusiasts interesting in tasting Regional Editions that are not from their own country.
The Netherlands has only had it's own Regional Edition release in 2011, with the El Rey de Mundo NL No. 1. Previous years have seen The Netherlands share Regional Releases with Belgium and Luxembourg, making up the Benelux triange of countries.
The United Kingdom has been well represented on the Regional Edition front over the last few years, with some inventive and interesting releases that include the La Flor de Cano Short Robusto, Bolivar Britanicas and Por Larranaga Magnificos.
