The Robustos Supremos is the first Cuban Cigar to have a 58 ring gauge, making this Cigar currently the thickest Cuban Cigar in living memory. The Robustos Supremos follows in the footsteps of the Cohiba Behike and Pirámides Extras in utilising the new Cohiba Hologram band. Released in the last week of November 2014 in the major European markets.
The first Limited Edition for 2014 to be released, the Partagás Selección Privada comes in dress boxes of ten. Swiss retailers were the first to receive shipment of the Selección Privada in the final week of September 2014.

It's interesting to note that the wrappers aren't as dark as what you'd expect of an Edicion Limitada. Both the Bolívar Super Coronas and Cohiba Robustos Supremos, the other 2014 Limited Editions, have notably darker wrappers than the Selección Privada.

Shortly before the release of the Partagás Selección Privada, the United Kingdom's exclusive distributor of Cuban cigars, Hunters & Frankau posted these two pictures on their Twitter feed:
Released on the first week of October 2014 in the United Kingdom, the Bolívar Super Coronas come in semi boite nature boxes of twenty five. The second time that the Bolívar has been selected for an Edicion Limitada, after the Bolívar Petit Belicosos in 2009.

As of 2014, the Le Hoyo de San Juan will be biggest ring gauged Hoyo de Monterrey in current production. What's interesting about this release however, is that the Cigar would be part of the Le Hoyo series, that is dominated by thinner ring gauged Cigars.
The San Juan will follow the trend of recent years of large bands with the name of the Cigar embossed underneath the logo. Examples of this band styling include the Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure de Luxe and H. Upmann Connoisseur A.
The San Juan is available in slide lid cabinets of both 10 & 25 cigars.
The Partagás Serie D No. 6 is the newest addition to the recent trend from Habanos of introducing small, stubby Cigars. Hopefully the Serie D No. 6 will build on the success of the H. Upmann Half Corona. Released in 2011, the H. Upmann Half Corona proved a hit with aficionados as it delivered in flavour regardless of it's size.

After the Quintero Petit Quintero and Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo de San Juan, the third cigar announced in 2014 to be released the same year, the Por Larrañaga Picadores is available on the market. Released first to Swiss La Casa del Habanos stores on the first Friday of September 2014. Other Swiss retailers will have the Picadores on sale on Tuesday, 16th September.
The first announced release of 2014 to make it on general sale, the Petit Quintero first appeared in Canadian La Casa del Habano stores in the second week of July. A week later, around the 15th or 16th, the Petit Quintero appeared on some well known German and Swiss online retailers.

Surly's first tasting of the Petit Quintero
Friends of Habanos member Surly posted his thoughts on the Quintero Petit Quintero that he recently smoked (22nd July 2014):
Just picked a couple of these up today from the local cigar shop. Pretty cheap - about $7.00 Canadian. I was expecting a smaller version of a Quintero Favoritos, but it was quite different. The Petit Quintero had a light, smooth wrapper with some oily marks. Not dark and rough looking like a Favorito. The first third was spicy/acrid. It evened out into a grassy flavour, but that's about it. No big flavours and none of the grubby 'twang' I like in a Favorito. Good burn and construction though. It's probably too green to give it a fair review. I'll save the other one and see if some age improves it.

The final Habanos S.A. release of 2014, the Trinidad Vigia found it's way to the Canadian La Casa Del Habanos in the 3rd week of December starting the 15th.
Of all the 2014 releases, I find the Trinidad Vigia one of the most interesting. Mainly because only a few years ago the Trinidad line was dealt a blow with both the Robusto Extra and Robusto T being discontinued. There were also at the time of the discontinuations rumours that the whole Trinidad brand were to be axed. With the introduction of the Vigia, does this indicate that there is still hope for a Trinidad resurgance and Habanos S.A. takes this premium brand seriously?
The second release of the Añejados project. Was announced in 2014 however as of March 2015 has not been released.
The first release as part of Habanos S.A. Añejados line, the Romeo Y Julieta Añejados were rolled in 2008 and then aged in Cuba for between five and eight years. Available only in dress boxes of twenty five cigars, and are adorned with a second specially commissioned second Añejados band. It is the first time that vitola has been used within the Romeo Y Julieta roster. The Cigar went on general sale in December 2014.

Andorra - Vegas Robaina Short Robaina - Andorran Regional Edition
Asia Pacific - Diplomáticos Bushido - Asia Pacific Regional Edition
The Diplomáticos Bushido was created by PCC to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the first Japanese citizen to visit Cuba. During the Keicho mission, samurai Hasekura Tsunenaga stopped in Cuba (then part of New Spain) on his way to the Vatican in Rome.
Translated from Japanese as ‘Way of the Warrior’, the Diplomáticos Bushido comes in boxes of twenty five and housed in intricate black lacquered boxes. A collectors item.
One of the scarcest regional editions in recent years. Due for release in 2014, limited boxes were made available to the Asia Pacific markets in early 2015. However, as of March 2016, the full allocation of the Diplomáticos Bushido has yet to been made public. As late as September 2015 it was alleged supplies were being boxed.
Pricing (on release - May 2015):
International $700 USD
338 Hong Kong dollars a box.
Benelux - Juan López Don Juan - Benelux Regional Edition
Canada - La Flor de Cano Siboney - Canadian Regional Edition
To be released at the tail end of 2014, the Siboney is the third regional release that comes under the La Flor de Cano brand. A recent tasting session took place in Cuba at the 2014 Partagas Festival where the regional edition was test-driven before release.
Caribbean - La Gloria Cubana Paraiso - Caribbean Regional Edition
Germany - Ramon Allónes 8-9-8 - German Regional Edition

Italy - Ramon Allónes Short Perfectos - Italian Regional Edition
Lebanon - Ramon Allónes Sur - Lebanon Regional Edition
Peru - Saint Luis Rey Inca - Peru Regional Edition
Portugal - Juan López Chiado 1864 - Portuguese Regional Edition
Serbia - Sancho Panza Eslavo - Serbian Regional Edition
Spain - Ramon Allónes Caprichos - Spanish Regional Edition
Switzerland - Ramon Allónes Perfectos - Swiss Regional Edition
Released in the second week of November 2014, the Ramon Allónes Perfectos utilises the same white band design as 2011 Limited Edition, the Ramon Allónes Allones Extra. The cigar is reminicent of the United Kingdom Regional Edition, the Bolívar Británicas (although does not quite share the same size)
The Ramon Allónes Perfectos is an attempt in resurrecting the style that is the 'Cigars of old'. The perfectos shape, along with the retro Ramon Allónes band tries to highlight that fact.
Word is that there will be a strictly limited release of one hundred humidors, each one containing ten Perfectos.
Turkey - Bolívar Bosphorus - Turkish Regional Edition
United Kingdom - Por Larrañaga Sobresalientes - United Kingdom Regional Edition
Announced during the week of the 2014 Habanos Festival, the Por Larrañaga Sobresalientes will be the largest ring gauged Regional Edition made specific for the British market. An interesting vitola in the fact that it has an odd numbered fifty three ring gauge that is difficult to pronounce. It's not the first Sobresalientes Regional Edition however, as in previous years we have had the Ramon Allónes Sidon and Bolívar 681 for both Lebanon and Bulgaria respectively.
