Diplomáticos No. 2, Cuban Cigar Information
The No. 2 as of 2013, is the only Diplomaticos currently under regular production. Habanos SA have been slowly discontinuing the Diplomaticos year over and No. 5 in 2010.
Keeping with the Diplomaticos brand, generally the No. 2 wrapper has a rustic, somewhat veiny look to it.
The Diplomaticos No. 2 is arguably the mildest torpedo shaped Cigar in regular production. I find that due to the mild blend of the No. 2, I find there's plenty of spiced wood, nutmeg, cinnamon like flavours. Whilst the Montecristo No. 2 has a more stronger, robust element to it's blend that consists of that bean profile, the Diplomaticos No. 2 is a much more delicate smoke.
Price Point & General Availability
The Diplomaticos No. 2 is priced as a cheaper alternative to the more premium brands of Montecristo and Partagás. A single Diplomaticos No. 2 can be found as much as $5 cheaper than it's Montecristo counterpart.
Since Diplomaticos is a niche brand with only one vitola currently in regular production, sourcing the No. 2 can be difficult if you're restricted to the traditional brick and mortar tobacconists. However, the major online retailers should have the No. 2 in stock.
