Romeo Y Julieta Petit Churchill, Cuban Cigar Information
The Petit Churchill is the third release after the Short and Wide Churchill, to take it's cue from the legendary Romeo y Julieta Churchill.
Released at the end of October 2012, the Petit Churchill will be a welcome addition to the smoking rotation of any aficionado's who enjoy the flavour profile of the Short Churchill but wish it was available in a smaller size.
Measuring in at 4 inches by 50 ring gauge, the Petit Churchill shares it's size with the Hoyo de Monterrey Petit Robustos.
I had the chance to smoke a Romeo y Julieta Petit Churchill a few weeks after it’s launch, and to be honest my impressions of the Cigar were indifferent. My recollections regarding the Petit Churchill that it had a prominent toasted tobacco note, with a hint of that dark cherry that I find is a common characteristic in the brand. The Cigar was decent enough, but I just couldn’t see how the Petit Churchill could fit in my smoking rotation.
The small smokes sector is already quite saturated, with an influx of new releases over the last few years. The Montecristo Petit Edmundo and Hoyo de Monterrey Short Robusto rule the Short Robusto format, so it’s going to be difficult for the Petit Churchill to find it’s niche. This maybe a Romeo y Julieta Churchill too far.
