6X by Wadsworth
Wadsworth's 6X is one of the more well known Real Ale's; it's been around for eighty years where the brewery in Devizes has been brewing this beer.
Not sure if it had been badly kept, but what I saw wasn't appealing. On the nose, there was this pungent, almost 'dirty water' smell that wasn't very welcoming. Not a good start.
How did it taste? Not that much better. A muted, hoppy flavour, intermixed with malt, currants with a bitter sweet finish.
Not a good rating, however one review doesn't make a bad bitter. Will have to try this again soon so I can compare quality between pubs.
