J.H.B by Oakham Ales
Brewery: Oakham Ales
I can’t recall if I’ve ever drank Oakham Brewery’s J.H.B. before, but after this I won’t forget how good was this.
Drinking this in Carmarthen’s Weatherspoons on a Saturday Afternoon, J.H.B is a straw coloured, hazy looking Beer with a nice short head and little carbonation. On the nose there’s some malt, fruit and notes of mild yeast.
Tasting J.H.B, you’d think that you’re sucking on an Opal Fruit. There’s a lot of Tropical Fruit here, pineapple, a little bit of peach. Along for the ride, there’s a dose of malt, that leads on to a hoppy finish.
I wasn’t sure what I was getting with J.H.B. when the barmaid passed the pint over to me, but after a few sips you know exactly where this Beer is at. The flavours here are equisive, I just love the fruit play here. The traditional citrus flavours here are at the back foot. I just love the Tropical play here, this Real Ale is very refreshing and moorish.
Rating Oakham’s J.H.B. I give this a solid eight out of ten. This Beer is highly rated by me. Along with Atilla, Oakham are doing thing’s right by producing top class Beers. Well done.
Smell: Citrus, Apricot
